Mokas Coffee & Eatery will open its first franchise-owned location Sept. 30 in Olathe, Kansas.

Christian Coleman will operate the 3,100-square-foot café at 11814 S. Fellows St. The Salina, Kansas-based fast-casual bakery and breakfast brand said the location is expected to create 45 to 60 jobs.

Coleman also has signed an agreement to develop five additional Mokas locations across the Kansas City metropolitan area, with the Olathe café serving as the first location in the expansion.

"Christian embodies the entrepreneurial, hospitality-driven mindset we look for in franchisees," Jason Ingermanson, president of Mokas Coffee & Eatery and CEO of JRI Hospitality, said in a press release.

Mokas, owned by JRI Hospitality, operates five corporate-owned locations in Salina, Colby and Wichita, Kansas, with three additional locations under development. The company also recently signed a franchise agreement with Cornerstone Hospitality to develop locations on the Missouri side of the Kansas City market.
