Mokas Coffee & Eatery has signed a nine-unit development deal with Cornerstone Hospitality to expand across the Kansas City market.
Cornerstone Hospitality, led by Brice Turner and Jeff Bennett, will open six locations in Clay and Jackson counties on the Missouri side of the Kansas City market. Three additional locations are planned for Derby, Garden City and Manhattan, Kansas, outside the metro area.
Site selection is underway, with openings planned for 2027.
"Brice and Jeff's backgrounds and combined entrepreneurial experiences make them exactly the kind of franchise partner we look for," Jason Ingermanson, CEO of JRI Hospitality and president of Mokas Coffee & Eatery, in a press release, said in a company press release.
"They understand what it takes to build something meaningful in a community, and that's exactly the spirit Mokas was built on. We're thrilled to support Cornerstone Hospitality as they bring Mokas to new guests throughout the Kansas City metro."
Owned by JRI Hospitality, Mokas Coffee & Eatery is based in Salina, Kansas. The company has five corporate-owned locations in Salina, Colby and Wichita, Kansas, and 15 additional locations under development in Wichita, Kansas City and other Kansas markets.
The brand is actively seeking franchisees for expansion.
