The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill continues to grow its international presence with restaurant openings in Australia, Canada and Egypt. The news follows a recently signed master franchise agreement that will bring the West Palm Beach-headquartered chain to Guyana and several Caribbean markets.
In Australia, franchisees Chirayushkumar Patel and Surjit Salwan opened the country's first Great Greek restaurant in Brisbane's Fortitude Valley. The partners plan to develop at least 50 locations across the region.
In Canada, franchisees Amrinder Cheema, Gurbinder Singh and Poonam Goyal launched their third Great Greek restaurant in Calgary, Alberta, and plan additional development throughout the province.
The brand also entered the Middle East with the opening of a restaurant in New Cairo, Egypt, by franchisee Metry Habashy. Habashy also owns a Great Greek location in Old Bridge, New Jersey.
The openings mark the latest push in the brand's growth strategy as it expands beyond North America into new global markets.
