International conglomerate Beharry Group of Georgetown, Guyana, has signed a master franchise agreement with The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill to develop and operate restaurants in its home country and throughout the Caribbean.
Beharry Group is a multi-unit operator of Yum! Brands concepts, owning 12 KFC and 10 Pizza Hut franchises, with six additional units in development. The agreement with Great Greek Mediterranean Grill marks the company's first move into the fast-casual segment.
The operator is scheduling its first Great Greek restaurant opening in Georgetown in late 2026. The company also plans to develop restaurants and recruit franchisees to expand the brand into Antigua and Barbuda, the Bahamas, Barbados, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Suriname, and Trinidad and Tobago.
"After years of operating quick-service concepts, we saw an opportunity to diversify our portfolio with a fast-casual brand that brings something different to the Caribbean market," Beharry Group Chairman Suresh Beharry said in a press release. "Mediterranean cuisine is increasingly popular around the world, and we believe that same demand exists across Guyana and the wider Caribbean."
The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill, headquartered in West Palm Beach, Florida, is an affiliated brand of United Franchise Group's Big Flavor Brands division.
