Beyond Juicery + Eatery said all of its franchise owners have adopted pricing guidance developed in partnership with restaurant pricing and decision intelligence company Quantiiv.
As the Birmingham, Michigan-based fast-casual brand grew to more than 50 locations across four states, pricing decisions varied by market. Franchisees responded to rising costs after margins had already declined. The data-driven approach provides franchisees with location-specific insights to make smaller, more targeted price adjustments. The methodology relies on established pricing research, with an emphasis on improving margins without eroding customer traffic and frequency.
Within six months, Beyond Juicery + Eatery reported improved price elasticity, with customers less sensitive to price increases. The brand is on track to generate additional margin this year through pricing changes, rather than relying on new-unit growth or cost-cutting.
"Franchise owners adopt pricing guidance when they can see the data behind the recommendation, not because corporate told them to," Patrick Daprile, co-founder of Quantiiv, said in a press release."Beyond Juicery understood that, and building that trust is what makes the results sustainable."
Rather than mandating systemwide price changes, Beyond Juicery + Eatery and Quantiiv worked with individual franchise owners to demonstrate how recommendations would affect their businesses. The analysis also identified menu items that drove repeat visits and those that prompted smoothie customers to add food to their orders.
"One of the biggest challenges for any restaurant brand is knowing when to act and when to stay the course," Jasmine Miller, CEO of Beyond Juicery + Eatery, said in a press release. "Having objective pricing insights and performance data helped us avoid reacting to short-term market noise and stay focused on what was actually happening inside restaurants."
Beyond Juicery + Eatery began franchising in 2018 and operates more than 50 locations across Michigan, Ohio, Florida and Georgia.
