Point-of-sale hardware provider Star Micronics has integrated with Quetzal POS to help specialty retailers modernize inventory, labeling and omnichannel operations, according to a press release.
The integration combines Quetzal POS software with Star Micronics' portfolio of receipt and label printers, barcode scanners and hybrid hardware. Available on iOS, Android and the web, the platform supports single-store and multi-location retailers, offering automated tools for barcode-based inventory tracking and e-commerce fulfillment.
Quetzal POS integrates with WooCommerce and plans to add Shopify support. The system extends online orders into the same receipt and labeling workflows used for in-store sales, streamlining in-store pickup and delivery.
"We built Quetzal POS to give specialty retailers practical tools for managing inventory, sales, and customer relationships without requiring the resources of a large retail chain," Sam Gardner, director of sales and operations at Quetzal POS, said in the release. "Working with Star allows us to extend those workflows into labeling, receipt printing, and e-commerce fulfillment, giving merchants options in how they deploy their systems."
The integration supports device communication over USB, Ethernet, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, allowing merchants to customize setups based on their store layouts.
"Specialty retailers rarely operate the same way from store to store," Christophe Naasz, global director of business development at Star Micronics, said in the release. "By supporting Star's full portfolio of receipt printing, labeling, barcode scanning, and hybrid POS hardware, Quetzal POS gives merchants the flexibility to choose the workflows and hardware that best fit their business."
