Nashville, Tennessee-based CaterZen Catering Software has partnered with Star Micronics to help restaurant operators integrate kitchen display and labeling technology to create an efficient catering workflow.
Headquartered in Shizuoka, Japan, Star Micronics manufactures point-of-sale and cloud-connected printing technology used by restaurants and retailers.
The integration helps improve organization during food preparation and packaging, while reducing labeling, packing and handoff errors before pickup or delivery.
CaterZen's Kitchen Display System feeds order data to Star Micronics' TSP143IV SK linerless label printer, which produces labels for placement on catering trays and individually packaged meals. The labels include information including dietary restrictions, delivery locations and pickup times to help kitchen staff identify and sort orders.
"Large catering orders leave very little room for error," Christophe Naasz, global director of business development at Star Micronics, said in a press release. "The last step before an order leaves the kitchen is often the one customers notice most. Clear, accurate labeling helps ensure every catering order arrives organized, identifiable and ready to serve."
