Irvine, California-based Pokeworksreported its strongest first-quarter performance since its 2015 launch, resulting from openings, development deals and menu innovation.

"Q1 was an exciting start to the year as we continue to build momentum in new and existing markets," co-founder and head of development Peter Yang said in a press release.

The poke chain opened locations in Cambridge, Massachusetts and Mount Juliet, Tennessee, and reopened a unit in Somerville, Massachusetts. It also signed a multi-unit agreement in Boulder, Colorado, introduced Black Garlic Aioli to its menu and expanded its catering support team to boost franchisee lead generation and execution.

Units are under construction in Texas markets, including El Paso, San Antonio and The Woodlands. Stores are also being developed in multiple locations across Massachusetts.

Pokeworks is seeking additional single- and multi-unit operators for additional national expansion.
