Hawaiian Bros Island Grill continued its growth trajectory during the first half of 2026, signing development deals with experienced franchisees to support expansion in Kentucky, Las Vegas and San Antonio, Texas. The Kansas City, Missouri-based plate lunch brand also opened nine locations across six states. The company expects to maintain that pace, averaging more than one new restaurant per month, through the remainder of the year.
The brand's 2026 Franchise Disclosure Document reported average gross sales of $3.5 million and average labor costs of 21.4% among restaurants in the top quartile of the system.
Hawaiian Bros has second-half openings planned for Atlanta, Chicago, Texas, Louisiana and the greater Indianapolis market.
The company is seeking experienced, multi-unit operators with the infrastructure to develop and operate multiple locations. Franchisees must have a proven track record in restaurant and hospitality management, including at least 10 years of experience franchising fast-casual, QSR or casual dining brands.
Hawaiian Bros has 80 restaurants across 14 states, with the majority franchisee owned and operated. Nearly 300 additional restaurants are under development agreements spanning 18 states and more than 60 markets.
