Swigcontinues its Texas expansion with a new six-unit franchise agreement that will bring the beverage brand to communities across South Texas. The St. George, Utah-based company inked the deal with father-and-son operators Najib and Walid Haidar, who plan to develop and operate the restaurants. The first unit is expected to open in early 2027.

The agreement follows recent expansion announcements in Colorado and South Florida as Swig continues with its national growth strategy.

Based in McAllen, Texas, Najib Haidar is an experienced multi-unit restaurant operator with franchise ties to brands including Dave's Hot Chicken, IHOP and Walk-On's Sports Bistreaux. He operates through MNT Haidar LLC and Haidar Properties.

"As we evaluated opportunities for continued growth, Swig stood out for its strong reputation, unique concept and clear long-term vision," Haidar said in a press release.

"We look forward to bringing that experience to communities throughout South Texas and continuing to grow alongside the brand."

According to the company, Swig's drive-thru-focused franchise model is designed for operational efficiency, with locations requiring as little as 800 to 850 square feet. The concept eliminates the need for extensive kitchen infrastructure, helping operators streamline labor, reduce build-out costs and scale more efficiently.

"We're seeing strong demand for concepts that are both operationally efficient and highly adaptable to today's consumer preferences," Swig President Todd Smith said in a press release.

"Our model is designed to meet that demand, and expanding into South Texas is a natural next step as we continue to scale with the right partners."

Swig currently operates more than 150 locations across 16 states and is seeking additional experienced multi-unit operators to support its nationwide expansion.
