Starbucks debuts Blue Coconut beverages tied to Water.org donation campaign

Seattle-based Starbuckshas introduced two summer beverages: the Blue Coconut Refresher and Iced Blue Coconut Matcha. Connected with the cold drinks are a charitable initiative tied to global water access. The company said it will donate 25 cents from each summer drink sold through July 8 to Water.org's Get Blue Initiative. The fundraising goal is $975,000, according to a company press release.

Starbucks has an ongoing partnership with Water.org and has also invested in WaterEquity, the organization's impact investing arm that raises and distributes capital to expand access to water and sanitation services.

The Blue Coconut Refresher blends coconut, strawberry and açaí flavors with ice and blue spirulina and is available as a refresher with lemonade or an "ocean drink" with coconut milk. It can also be customized for caffeine preference. The Iced Blue Coconut Matcha features mango flavoring, blue spirulina and cold foam.
