Square Roots Kitchen, based in Chicago, has replaced its front-of-house service with an electronic ordering system, according to a company press release. SRK, which strives to provide a healthy alternative to fast food with the integration of technology to improve customer experience, is using the technology, to allow customers to create fully customized meals, Co-Founder and CTO Jason White, said in the release.
"This technology alone creates a significant reduction in labor costs," he said.
Customers can place orders through SRK's in-store mounted touchscreen panels or through their mobile devices. SRK workers have suggestions on each meal screen to assist customers with their orders.
SRK also has an automated Kitchen Management System that controls actions, including menu management, delivery services and receipt printing.
