Scooter's Coffee has broken ground on a 154,400-square-foot cold-storage distribution center in Papillion, Nebraska. The $40 million facility at 11656 S. 158th St. is scheduled to open in August 2027 and will eventually support more than 700 stores. The center will include more than 93,000 square feet of warehouse space and 8,000 square feet of office space. Operations at the nearby La Vista, Nebraska, distribution center at 13564 Valley Ridge Drive will transition to the new facility.
"This new distribution center represents an important investment in the future of Scooter's Coffee and our ability to support continued growth across the region," Nick Jarecke, the company's chief supply chain officer, said in a press release.
"By strengthening our cold storage and distribution capabilities, we are better positioned to serve our franchisees, maintain product quality, and support the speed and consistency our customers expect."
Upon completion, the Papillion distribution center will be Scooter's Coffee's seventh nationwide and its third in the Omaha area, where the company is headquartered.
Scooter's Coffee operates more than 900 locations across 32 states.
