Moe's fake queso warning comes on heels of Chipotle's Queso announcement

Moe's Southwest Grill is warning its customers of a "fake queso epidemic" in a not-so-subtle dig at Chipotle, which announced this week that it's testing queso at its NYC test kitchen. Moe's, via its website, offered customers a free cup of queso Thursday at its Avenue of the Americas location in NYC, according to a press release.

"Moe's has been serving its queso for 17 years, and our rich ribbons of liquid gold are famous for a reason," the website said. "Moe's was struck with this news when cups of nacho-cheese-esque dips were roaming around, pretending to be southwestern-inspired queso. As a courtesy to our awesome fans and with a promise to serve and protect all queso lovers, Moe's is issuing this public warning."

Moe's instructed eaters to take a picture of any fake queso they came across and send it directly to @Moes_HQ using #QuesoImposters.
