Former McDonald'sowner-operator Gabriel Vesci has opened a Paris Baguette cafe in Thousand Oaks, California, as part of a Southern California expansion plan. The bakery-café opened June 15 on North Moorpark Road. Vesci, a former healthcare finance executive, said in a press release that he plans to develop additional locations in Brentwood, Culver City, Santa Monica and West Hollywood.
The Thousand Oaks cafe is Paris Baguette's 81st location in California. The South Korean-based chain aims to open 1,000 locations across the United States and Canada through franchise expansion by 2030.
Paris Baguette operates more than 300 locations in North America and more than 4,000 worldwide. The company recently opened its first nontraditional location at Philadelphia International Airport.
