Denver-based Birdcall has signed a franchise agreement to open five restaurants in the Indianapolis area, marking the first step in the chicken chain's Midwest expansion strategy.
The agreement covers the greater Indianapolis market, with site selection underway in the Carmel, Fishers and Westfield corridor. Additional locations in the southern portion of the metro area are also under consideration.
The restaurants will be developed and operated by franchisee Nikunj Patel, who owns multiple Nekter Juice Bar locations in the Chicago area. Patel is partnering with a multi-unit restaurant operator that develops and manages franchise locations across the Midwest.
Birdcall said the Indianapolis expansion follows its recently announced plan to add nearly 100 restaurants across Indiana, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio and Wisconsin over the next five years.
The company operates 17 restaurants in Colorado, Arizona and Texas and has more than 20 additional locations in development nationwide.
