Creating an immersive and a multi-sensor experience within the restaurant and retail environment is no easy feat but insightful knowledge from those who've done it successfully can be critical in avoiding hurdles and missteps. Smashburger's CMO Josh Kern (shown) is just one of nearly a dozen gurus providing just that during the upcoming ICX Summit, slated for June 1 to June 3 in Dallas.

This exclusive event is reserved for restaurants, retailers and other B2C businesses interested in utilizing interactive technologies to enhance the customer experience. Attendees will have an opportunity to explore many of the technologies available to businesses — retail, hospitality, travel, restaurants, healthcare and more — for engaging customers. The ICX Summit will cover the landscape from kiosks to digital signage to mobile and beyond to give attendees insights they can put in action now to deliver outstanding interactive customer experiences.

Kern's panel, "Give Them a Reason to Come: Immersive and Multi-Sensory Experiences," will focus on how an immersive experience can take place from the front door to the dressing rooms, with mobile technology and digital signage all playing a role.

But Kern is just one expert sharing invaluable insight and advice. Dickey's Barbecue Pit tech leader, Paula Suarez, who heads up IT and development, will be speaking on data analytics strategy during the three-day summit. She'll explain what Big Data is and how to use the technology to better capture and analyze customer data for real-time business decision-making.

Harnessing the power of Internet of Things, also a top focus for those in retail and the food industry, is another panel at the summit. Amber Gadsby, Domino's Pizza director, digital retail experience, will share how IoT can be capitalized on for both the business and the valued consumer.

Given the increasing advent of mobile devices being used by consumers, as well as retailers, the state of mobile is also a hot topic at the summit. Tod Caflisch, director of IT for Detroit Red Wings, will lead a discussion of interactive customer experience as it relates to smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices in play. The panel will discuss mobile marketing, beacons, messaging and the growing consumer use and demand for wallet and mobile pay.

Wingstop CIO Stacy Peterson is leading a panel on measuring customer satisfaction and how new technology can help capture the 'voice of the customer' to drive an authentic brand message.
