Tropical Smoothie names Joe Sieve chief development, growth officer

Tropical Smoothie Café has hired Joe Sieve as chief development and growth officer, replacing Cheryl Fletcher, who will retire at the end of August.

Sieve joined the Atlanta-based brand on July 27 and will lead franchise development strategy and growth initiatives as Tropical Smoothie Café continues expanding its national footprint.

Most recently, Sieve served as chief operations and global development officer at Papa Johns, where he helped oversee growth across a system of more than 6,000 restaurants in more than 50 countries and territories. During his career, Sieve has led development, operations, growth strategy and franchise initiatives for various brands.

"Joe is an accomplished leader with deep experience helping brands grow while maintaining a strong focus on operational excellence and franchisee success," CEO Max Wetzel said in a press release.

Tropical Smoothie Café recently opened its 1,750th location and has a development pipeline of more than 900 restaurants. The brand currently operates in 44 states.
