Starbucks today debuted its first line of American-made merchandise, including coffee mugs, available in cafes around the country. The line supports Starbucks' Create Jobs for USA fund, created in 2011.
CEO Howard Schultz recently challenged company executives to accelerate hiring to help with the country's economic recovery, according to Reuters.
Starbucks' new merchandise includes a Chicago-made acrylic tumbler, whole bean coffee blended, roasted and packaged in the U.S., and a ceramic mug made at the American Mug & Stein factory in East Liverpool, Ohio.
The American Mug & Stein factory's workforce increased from 14 to 22 people after the Starbucks partnership.
Starbucks will make a donation to the Create Jobs for USA fund for each new product sold.
