Fast-casual acai bowl and smoothie chain South Block will open a location in Washington, D.C.'s Tenleytown neighborhood on July 11. The restaurant, at 4523 Wisconsin Ave., NW, will offer the first 100 customers in line a free Mini Warrior Acai Bowl and branded merchandise.
"What drew us to Tenleytown was the sense that people here genuinely love and enjoy the neighborhood," CEO and founder Amir Mostafavi said in a press release.
"There's movement throughout the day, but it never loses that personal feel. You see students heading to class, families out walking and longtime locals returning to beloved shops again and again, and that's exactly the kind of connection we hope to build with South Block."
South Block opened its first location in Arlington, Virginia, where the company is still headquartered. The chain now operates 24 locations across Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia.
Utah-based Savory Fund acquired a majority stake in the company in early 2024.
