Qdoba is expanding its franchise footprint with new development agreements that will open over 100 restaurants across the Southeast and West.
The fast-casual Tex-Mex chain signed agreements to open 50 restaurants in the Southeast while expanding an existing development commitment to 63 locations in the West.
In the Southeast, a former McDonald's operator plans to develop 30 restaurants in the Atlanta area, while a Zaxby's franchisee has committed to launching 20 locations in the Nashville market.
Longtime Qdoba franchisee B Wild committed to 63 units in Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Washington and Wyoming. B Wild affiliate 7Star Eats also acquired 22 Qdoba restaurants in the Pacific Northwest, expanding its portfolio to 42 locations across Alaska, Colorado, Idaho, Montana and Washington.
Qdoba said it is targeting high-demand markets with strong interest from multi-unit franchisees, particularly in California, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee and Texas. The company also plans additional East Coast expansion and new locations in nontraditional venues, including airports, universities and military bases.
San Diego-headquartered Qdoba and its franchisees operate more than 865 restaurants. The company plans to grow to about 2,000 locations over the next eight years by opening roughly 100 restaurants annually and increasing franchised locations to 85% of its system.
