Fast-casual chain Philly's Best Cheesesteaks has revamped its Real Philly Rewards loyalty program, increasing redemption options and adding more flexibility with rewards.
Members can now redeem points for additional menu items, including drinks and fries, as well as cash rewards that can be applied toward meal upgrades. Points can also be saved and redeemed for a free cheesesteak or hoagie. The Los Angeles-based company said the upgrade reflects broader restaurant industry trends toward more personalization and flexible loyalty platforms, versus the traditional punch-card style programs.
"Guests these days are looking for more flexibility and relevant experiences," Philly's Best Cheesesteaks co-founder Bob Levy told FastCasual.
"Not every guest visits for the same reason every time, so loyalty programs need to provide flexible options that fit different occasions and preferences. The program better reflects the different ways our guests interact with the brand."
Restaurant brands are also increasingly using artificial intelligence and other technology tools to better understand customer behavior and tailor offers accordingly.
Levy said the revamped Real Philly Rewards program will generate deeper insight into customer behavior, including visit frequency, purchase activity, reward redemption patterns and engagement with brand communications.
"While our current focus is creating a more flexible rewards experience, the data we're gathering will help us continue to evolve the program and deliver more relevant and personalized reward journeys, offers and messaging in the future," he added.
