Fat Burger opening 3 in 1 concept in Japan

Fatburger, and Buffalo's Express, owned by FAT Brands, is opening its first Japanese location in April 2018. Located insideTokyo's Shibuya 109 building, the dual-branded flagship location will also feature the company's bar concept, FatBar, according to a company press release.

"When we open a new Fatburger or Buffalo's Express location, especially a flagship in a new territory, we strive to find the most provocative, prominent locations possible," Andy Wiederhorn, CEO of FAT Brands, said in the release. "In a buzzing city like Tokyo, it's exciting to tap into a neighborhood like Shibuya that hums with thousands of visitors daily. Similar to our other Asian restaurants, we expect this will become a popular destination with tourists and locals alike for lunch, drinks and after-work meetups."


The chain plans to sign several additional agreements in 2018, to expand not only Fatburger and Buffalo's Express,  but also its recently acquired Ponderosa and Bonanza Steakhouses, said Wiederhorn, who will keynote the 2018 Restaurant Franchising and Innovation Summit, July 16-18 in London.

Fat Brands has 200 restaurants in 20 countries.
