California Tortilla trades in server-based POS for the cloud
California Tortilla has upgraded its POS and workforce efficiency solutions by deploying Par's cloud-Based Brink POS software and EverServ 8000 terminals in all of its 51 locations. The technology also will be used in an additional six restaurants opening by the end of the year, according to a company press release.
Prior to Brink, Cal Tort relied on a commonly used server-based point-of-sale system that required standalone support and could not efficiently integrate with emerging technology, Brian Chase, director of franchise operations, said in the release.
These difficulties caused the support team to spend hundreds of hours troubleshooting and supporting franchisees, which was disruptive to the business. With plans for growth, Cal Tort sought out a cloud solution that was more robust and would allow them to expand their number of outlets in a more streamlined way.
"It's important for Cal Tort to be up to date with POS technology, now and in the future," said Chase, who selected the system for its integration with the chain's loyalty program. "Our aging POS system was fast approaching the end of its usefulness and was becoming disruptive to the overall operations of the business."
Along with offering online ordering and menu management, a cloud solution keeps the brand from losing sales due to system errors and breakdowns, the release said.
