Wayback Burgers to open 6 stores in Brunei

Wayback Burgers has signed a master franchise partnership with Brunei-based JonRidge(B) Sdn Bhd to bring the brand to Southeast Asia. As part of the partnership, JonRidge(B) Sdn Bhd will open a minimum of six Wayback Burgers restaurants in Brunei, with the potential for additional locations within the country and neighboring territories throughout Southeast Asia, according to a company press release.

"We are pleased to announce Wayback Burgers is heading to Brunei," said John Carter, founder and CEO of Wayback Burgers. "With steady debt-free growth, locations in 22 states, new locations opening at a rate of two per month and our strong 32 country international development schedule, Wayback Burgers has solidified itself as a formidable player in the better burger category in the United States and abroad. We look forward to bringing Wayback Burgers’ piece of Americana to Southeast Asia through our partnership with John Burgos and his exceptional team."

Wayback Burgers currently operates in 22 states with more than 100 locations nationally and internationally in Argentina. Wayback Burgers, through its executed master franchise agreements, plans to open in 32 countries in the Middle East, Northern Africa, Argentina, Pakistan and Brunei, along with pending agreements for Canada and India.

"We are pleased to announce this exciting new partnership with Wayback Burgers — making us the first to bring its delicious burgers and hand-dipped milkshakes to Brunei and its neighboring territories," said John Burgos, founder and managing director of JonRidge(B) Sdn Bhd. "In 2014, our company was searching for a partnership with an American-based brand in the better burger category that served great food and possessed solid growth potential. After meeting with the Wayback Burgers team, it was clear we found exactly what we were looking for. We look forward to introducing Wayback Burgers to Southeast Asia."
