Chicago Business: McDonald's Corp. happy meals will soon see fewer tie-ins with long-time promotional partner Walt Disney Co. The decade-long partnership that linked McDonald's products with Disney's movies, videos and television shows is dissolving once the current contract expires at the end of this year, the Los Angeles Timesreported May 8. The newspaper cited high-ranking Disney sources as saying they wanted to distance the conglomerate that operates Disney theme parks, ABC network and the Disney Channel from the fast food industry and its association with childhood obesity.
