Shake Shack is testing new web ordering functionality that will let customers bypass lines in 10 markets across the U.S., according to a company spokesperson.
The web ordering capabilities are "similar in feel" to the company's kiosk and mobile capabilities that will follow the same pickup process as the app, the spokesperson said. She added that the category purchasing limits were higher online than in the app.
The test markets include downtown Detroit; Chicago's West Loop; King of Prussia, Pennsylvania; Astor Place in Manhattan; downtown Los Angeles; the River North Art District in Denver; Pinecrest, Orange Village in Ohio; Highlands Ranch, Colorado, and the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn.
Guests will be able to use their existing Shake Shack App accounts, and new customers can create a new account on the web platform. Customers can also use guest access to avoid creating a new account.
