Salad and Go unexpectedly closes all locations

Two weeks after launching a menu upgrade featuring recipe enhancements to signature salads, refreshed ingredient combinations and upgraded flavor profiles, Arizona-based Salad and Go has closed all locations and filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy, in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas, Houston Division according to a statement released by the company.

"This is a painful day for everyone who built, worked for and loved Salad and Go," Mike Tattersfield, Salad and Go CEO, said in a company press release. "Our mission was brought to life every day by an extraordinary team and embraced by guests who made us part of their routines. We are proud of what we built together and grateful to every team member, guest and partner who believed in it.

Tattersfield joined Salad and Go as CEO in April 2025, succeeding Charlie Morrison, who took the job after leading Wingstop for several years. Morrison is now CEO of Jersey Mike's.

While Salad and Go earned the support and loyalty of a deeply passionate community, the business was ultimately unable to overcome sustained pressure on consumer demand, past strategic growth challenges and rising costs, according to the release.

A Cyclospora outbreak in July, in which Salad and Go was not implicated, weakened confidence across the industry and compounded these challenges, Tattersfield said.
