Rubio's revenue rises but profit falls in Q1

CARLSBAD, Calif. — Rubio's Restaurants posted modest first-quarter earnings for the 12-week period ended March 26. 
 
Comparable-store sales increased 0.9 percent versus comparable store sales decrease of 1 percent for the same quarter last year. Revenues rose 3.9 percent to $35.1 million compared to $33.8 million last year. Net income was $192,000, down from $489,000 for the same quarter last year.
