Restaurants can now use Square to receive customer orders via Facebook Messenger

JoyUp, an AI marketing assistant company for food brands, has announced an integration with Square's point-of-sale system that would enable merchants to receive their Facebook Messenger orders directly, according to a press release.

Joy interacts with customers on sellers' behalf to provide them with conversational menu information, enabling customers to skip the line, instantly order through Facebook Messenger, and complete the purchase with payment methods such as Apple Pay. Once submitted, the order pops up in their respective Square POS for the restaurant to acknowledge.

"Facebook Messenger ordering delivers an exciting, new, frictionless experience for consumers and a new revenue opportunity for food brands," Abhinav Kuru, CEO at JoyUp, said in the press release. "No apps need to be downloaded or installed. Customers search their beloved business on Messenger and order."
