Quiznos mobile order, pay app receives half million check-ins

September 22, 2017

Quiznos has joined the mobile ordering craze. Realizing that orders placed via smartphone and mobile apps will become a $38 billion industry and will make up nearly 11 percent of all quick-service restaurant sales by 2020 (according to Business Insider Intelligence), the chain has added mobile ordering and payment to its Toasty Points loyalty app. Guests may order and pay using Apple Pay or a credit card at its more than 500 locations in North America, according to the company. They'll also soon be able to use Apple devices that come with NFC technology to pay at Quiznos by tapping that device at the Quiznos register POS system.

After just a few months of deployment, Quiznos' app has more than a half million check-ins and has processed more than 12,000 mobile orders, according to the company.

Customization and customer feedback were both important to Quiznos in building the app to tailor franchisee's marketing messages and creating an app that truly works for the brand's guests, said Tim Kraus, director of interactive and innovation at Quiznos. In fact, the company received more than 30,000 guest feedback responses to the app, several of which it used to tweak specific features. The app also allows Quiznos to gather valuable information about its customer’s menu preferences and ordering habits in order to tailor promotional messages for its franchisees. As a result, the company said franchisees are seeing individual guest tickets and frequency increase.

Guest value is another key driver behind the app's development. Guests, for example, can earn and redeem points for free Quiznos menu items and. Since the app's launch, Quiznos said it has awarded more than 47,000 small subs and about 51,000 regular size subs.
