Parents magazine rates best fast casuals

Corner Bakery Cafe, Fazoli's, Noodles & Company, Taco Del Mar and others made the Parents magazine list of Top 10 Best Fast Casual Restaurants in 2009.
The No. 1 restaurant for kids was Cosi.
"Cosi is one of three restaurants in our survey where every kids' entree — from the pizza to the PB & J — contains fewer than 425 calories," said writer Karen Cicero.
Parents magazine surveyed 50 chains as part of a two-month study to find the top 10 eateries for families.
Each restaurant answered a 25-question survey and submitted nutritional information for all of the items on their kids' menus. The magazine then examined the calories, fat and sodium in each dish.
Also on the kids' meal front: Taco Del Mar is celebrating children and families throughout July by offering a free kids' meal to children 12 and under with an adult purchase after 5 p.m. Taco Del Mar's kids menu includes cheese quesadillas, bean and cheese burritos, tacos, rice and beans served with a side of tortilla chips and a small drink.
"These days, tight household budgets make going out to eat as a family a real treat," said Dana Points, editor in chief of Parents. "The ten restaurants on Parents' list are affordable, healthy and family-friendly."
