Panchero's Mexican Grill promo: Save Bobs

April 6, 2012

Pancheros Mexican Grill is out to save Bob. Once one of the most common names in the country, “Bob” has been decreasing in popularity since the 1970s. In honor of Bob the Tool —the mixing mechanism that blends ingredients together before being wrapped into a tortilla —and his fourth anniversary, Pancheros is launching a “Save Bobs” campaign to save the once-prevalent name.

As part of the social media campaign, fans can visit the company's Facebook page through May 15 for a chance to win a $5,000 prize. Fans just choose one of their Facebook friends named Bob to save. If a fan has no friends named Bob, they can still enter. There also will be random drawings for prizes like gift cards and T-shirts throughout the next six weeks. Pancheros also is launching a microsite with a video featuring Aaron Yonda to spread the word about their quest to save Bobs everywhere.

Bobs will really benefit on May 1 when all Pancheros locations are giving free burritos to anyone named Bob (including Robert, Robbie, Rob, Bobby, etc.).

Founded in 1992 by Rodney L. Anderson, Coralville, Iowa-based Pancheros Mexican Grill has more than 50 locations throughout the United States.
