Original ChopShop has named Kyle Frederick CEO as the fast-casual brand prepares for its next phase of growth.
Frederick, who has been part of the company's leadership team for 10 years, most recently served as chief operating officer. He succeeds Jason Morgan, who is transitioning to an advisory role after a decade as CEO.
"What started as three Shops in Phoenix is now 30 locations across four markets, and I think ChopShop's best days are still ahead," Morgan said in a company press release. "I'm proud of everything our team has built over the last 10 years, and I'm excited about where Kyle will take it."
During his tenure, Morgan helped lead Original ChopShop through its expansion from its Phoenix roots and established the operational and cultural foundation the company says will support its continued growth.
Frederick joined Original ChopShop in 2016, after holding leadership positions with Zoës Kitchen. As COO, he helped oversee the brand's operations, culture and restaurant teams.
"The last 10 years proved what Original ChopShop can be. The next 10 are about showing how far we can take it," Frederick said in the release. "I'm grateful to Jason for his leadership and for building such a strong foundation. We'll keep investing in our people, our restaurants and the communities we serve, while bringing Feel Good Food to even more guests."
The leadership transition comes as Original ChopShop continues to expand under Mac Haik Enterprises, which acquired all outstanding interest in the company. The Houston-based company has Original ChopShop among its restaurant investments.
Founded in Old Town Scottsdale, Arizona, in 2013, Original ChopShop now has 30 Shops in Phoenix, Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, College Station, Tucson and Atlanta.
The brand serves customizable bowls, salads, sandwiches and other menu items made with ingredients prepared in its restaurants. Its menu includes options for guests following gluten-free, dairy-free, lactose-free, soy-free, vegetarian and vegan diets.
