Moe’s Southwest Grill has announced a major fundraising campaign through the restaurant chain’s national charitable partnership with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).
As the leading charitable funder and advocate of type 1 diabetes research worldwide, JDRF has funded more than $1.5 billion for research since its inception dedicated to curing, treating and preventing the disease. Money will be raised both on the national and local scale through franchise partner participation.
People with diabetes must carefully balance their food intake and exercise to regulate blood sugar levels.Food at Moe’s Southwest Grill is not cooked in microwaves, and does not contain animal fat, lard or MSG.
“We are thrilled to have a national partner that our franchise partners can support locally,” said Paul Damico, president of Moe’s Southwest Grill. “While we have plans to conduct a systemwide fundraising effort, franchise partners who wish to take it to the next level can work with their local JDRF chapter and support their neighborhood JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes.“
