McAlister’s Deli enhances menu, launches Tea Town promo

McAlister's Deli is finding sweet ways for guests to beat the heat this summer with its 2011 Beverage of Summer promotion, the search for "Tea Town USA."

McAlister's will use its Tea Freaks Facebook page as well as in-restaurant promotional materials to have guests vote online for their favorite town.

Participants can "earn" their town an additional two points per day by checking in through a smart phone and by participating in weekly photo challenges. The top 10 towns will win donations for a local nonprofit organization with the winner of the title of Tea Town USA earning $7,500 for its chosen benefactor.

McAlister's will also bring back the McAlister's Tea Tumbler, featuring a new design. Guests can purchase the tumbler for $6.99 and bring it back for the remainder of 2011 to have it filled with McAlister's ice tea for only 99 cents.

The Beverage of Summer promotion will culminate as McAlister's declares July 28 "Free Tea Day." All participating restaurants nationwide will provide a free 32-ounce glass of McAlister's Famous Sweet Tea with no purchase necessary.

Upgraded ingredients introduced

McAlister's has also introduced new, upgraded premium ingredients throughout its menu, including proteins such as Black Forest Ham, Black Angus Roast Beef and Butterball turkey as well as new artisan foccacia and ciabatta breads.

Additionally, ingredients such as brie cheese, guacamole, roasted corn and poblano pepper relish and caramelized onions have been added. These menu enhancements will be featured in a new line of grilled sandwiches as well as on other items throughout the menu.

McAlister's Deli has more than 300 restaurants operating in 23 states.
