Genghis Grill launches social media-driven music tour

On December 11, Dallas-based Genghis Grill will mark the beginning of its first ever social media-driven music tour, Genghis Live. Local city bands that want to perform must upload their music video onto GenghisGrillTV.com and from there, fans will vote for their favorite bands. The top 4 will be chosen to play based on the most "likes" and "tweets" on GenghisGrillTV.com.

During the event date, the bands perform and the crowd is invited to "check in" on Foursquare, tweet and like their favorite band. Whichever band gets the most "likes" from Facebook and the most tweeted band with the Twitter hashtag #GenghisLive will be awarded $500 cash plus other various prizes.

"Social media continues to be a driving force for our fan engagement on Twitter, Facebook and Foursquare. Building a real-life event around our fans was a natural next step for GenghisGrillTV.com," said Paul Barron, chief social brand officer of Genghis Grill. "The Genghis Live Music Tour is really our first move to connect our social fans to our brand experience and there is plenty more to come on GenghisGrillTV.com."

The first stop for the music tour will be in Dallas on December 11 at the Genghis Grill in the Uptown area off Lemmon Avenue.

Additionally, to usher in the holiday season, Genghis Grill will donate 15 percent of the event's sales to the North Texas Food Bank.

Three more stops on the Genghis Live tour include Houston, Atlanta and Austin, Texas, during the legendary South By Southwest Tour. Future dates will be announced.

GenghisGrillTV.com was created to provide another avenue for the restaurant's loyal fans to socially interact. On the site, fans can upload photos, videos and submit their stories that relate to the Genghis Grill experience.
