Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers has signed a 10-unit franchise agreement with multi-brand operator ELJ Investments to expand the brand in Georgia and South Carolina. Under the agreement, Atlanta-based ELJ will acquire six existing Freddy's restaurants in Augusta, Georgia, and Columbia, South Carolina. The operator also plans to develop four additional restaurants in markets across the two states.
"ELJ Investments' operational expertise, entrepreneurial mindset and long-term commitment to restaurant excellence make them an outstanding addition to Freddy's franchise system," Freddy's Chief Development Officer Andrew Thengvall said in a press release.
Freddy's, based in Wichita, Kansas, has more than 580 locations across the United States and Canada. The company expanded its development team earlier this year as it works toward opening 60 new restaurants in 2026.
