Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers has expanded its development team, hiring Rafik Farouk as vice president of business development and Jackie Lobdell as vice president of franchise sales.

Farouk brings nearly 30 years of experience in restaurant operations and franchise strategy, with an emphasis on global growth. He will help drive expansion in new and existing markets, including international development.

He previously served as vice president of global brand development and retail at P.F. Chang's and has held leadership roles at Bloomin' Brands Inc. and Consolidated Restaurant Operations Inc.

Lobdell will focus on identifying prospective franchisees and guiding them through the discovery process as the brand grows its footprint. She has a decade of experience in restaurant franchise development, including serving as vice president of franchise development at Slim Chickens. She also has a marketing and advertising background.

"Freddy's is entering an exciting phase of growth, and Rafik and Jackie are two important additions to our development team," Andrew Thengvall, chief development officer and chief legal officer, said in a press release. "Each brings a powerful combination of industry knowledge, strategic insight and proven development expertise. Rafik and Jackie will enhance our ability to grow thoughtfully, attract the right franchise partners and unlock new opportunities for Freddy's."

The Wichita, Kansas-based company has more than 580 corporate-owned and franchise locations across the United States and Canada.
