Flame Broiler debuts online ordering, redesigns serving ware

January 7, 2021

Korean fast casual Flame Broiler now offers customers online ordering and has been busy redesigning both serving bowls and updating its kimchi offering.

The online order platform is available at over 60 locations with expansion to more locations during this year, according to a press release.

"While we love serving customers food in our restaurant, the pandemic has made that challenging. Flame Broiler is aggressively looking for ways to get our healthy food into the hands of more people, and online ordering is one more way to reach people wherever they are — at home or on the go," Daniel Lee, head of brand technology, said in the release. "Our online ordering platform gives the customer the freedom to order a delicious meal whenever and wherever they want."

The brand has also partnered with Bottlebox on eco-friendly containers made from recycled water bottles with a 100% recyclable plastic base. Flame Broiler will reuse 10.1 million recycled bottles annually, which is equivalent to saving about 316,000 pounds of CO2 from entering the atmosphere, according to the release.

"Flame Broiler's purpose is to live and work for the restoration of holistic health in the world. This is an intentional mindset. We want to help the health of the planet, and by switching to Bottlebox bowls, 235,000 pounds of plastic will be saved from the landfills," Young Lee, CEO and founder, said in the release.

It is also now sourcing kimchi from South Korea, which will add an extra flavor dimension, according to the brand.

"We are always ideating on ways to innovate and bring fun, delectable new flavors to our menu," said Lee. "Kimchi is a staple Korean food. Now, customers can enhance their bowls with the umami flavor of our tangy, spicy kimchi."

Founded in 1995, Flame Broiler has grown to nearly 200 restaurants throughout California, Nevada, Arizona, Oklahoma, Idaho, Florida and North Carolina.
