DoorDash launches support for black-owned businesses

DoorDash has announced a series of initiatives to support Black-owned restaurants on the DoorDash and Caviar platforms, including an agreement with Kiva, an online lending platform, to match loans for Black-owned businesses.

The delivery platform is also making it easier to support Black-owned businesses in their communities with in-app features on DoorDash and Caviar.

The announcement follows recent announcements including the donation of $500,000 to Black Lives Matter and another $500,000 to create a fund directed at the Black@DoorDash Employee Resources Group, towards state and local organizations.

The initiatives follow weeks of protests and social upheaval following the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis.
