March 19, 2006
CHICAGO — Chipotle's Mexican Grill Inc. became the target of a Chicago Tribune report March 18 that questioned the value of its share price following a week in which its stock soared nearly 30 percent.
The Denver-based Mexican-style fast-casual restaurant chain's shares had been holding its ground above $40 since going public on Jan. 26 in the most successful initial public offering in more than five years.
The stock closed its first day of trading on Jan. 26 at $44, double the IPO price of $22.
