Caribou Coffee filling food pantry void for the holidays

November 11, 2014

With coffee being one of the most requested items at food banks, Caribou Coffee has launched a campaign to donate coffee to The Food Group for the holiday season.

Guests can donate Reindeer Blend coffee at their local Caribou Coffee to be distributed to Minnesota-based The Food Group, formerly known as Emergency Foodshelf Network. In addition, for each holiday story completed on CaribouCoffeeStories.com, the company will donate one pound of coffee to The Food Group.

According to a news release, The Food Group is a full-service food bank with more than 200 hunger relief partners throughout Minnesota.

"Throughout the year we strive to address food scarcity through our food donation program in-stores and now with the holiday season at hand we are focusing our attention on one of the most requested food shelf items: coffee," said Megan Fraboni, public relations manager at Caribou Coffee, in the release. "We hope our guests join us and give those in our communities who are facing food insecurities a boost this holiday season."

Caribou Coffee invites fans to help tell three holiday stories; the first line of which is printed on each size of the company's holiday cups. Guests are encouraged to finish a story or enjoy other people's submissions.
