Camille’s Sidewalk Café latest to rollout iPads

July 28, 2011

Beautiful Brands International has just launched a new initiative with the system-wide rollout of Apple iPads at its new Camille’s Sidewalk Café stores. The iPads are being used in an effort to increase kitchen efficiency and reduce the amount of paper used in the franchise.

“Not only do the iPads increase our efficiency with less paper but we’re also able to vastly improve our service to our customers,” said David Rutkauskas, Beautiful Brands founder, president and CEO. “This system is an excellent way to accomplish our goals of meeting our guests’ needs together with helping the environment.”

Instead of taking orders on chemically coated paper, workers type up the order on the iPad screen for the kitchen to instantly access. As orders are served, they are deleted from the queue.Through this new Kitchen Display Technology (KDS by Revel Systems) customers also have the option of getting an emailed receipt instead of a paper version.

“We really try to be innovative and socially conscious at the same time,” Rutkauskas said.“We feel sure this technology will greatly streamline our workflow and service while also doing something incredibly important for the environment.”

Camille’s now has more than 84 cafes in 27 states and 10 countries with stores in development and under construction worldwide.
