Burger 21 scouting Houston franchising opps

Burger 21 is targeting Houston for future restaurant sites and prospective franchisees. The Tampa-based company has 16 locations open and more than 25 franchised units in development across the country with further plans for continued expansion, according to a company press release.

As the chain gears up to open its first Texas restaurants in Frisco and McAllen later this year, Houston is also one of several additional markets in The Lone Star State that represents an opportunity for its future development. The brand aims to develop additional locations in the Dallas-Fort Worth and San Antonio areas, said Mark Johnston, Burger 21 founder and president.

"Houston’s dynamic dining scene represents a great opportunity for our brand’s future expansion," Johnston said. "From our menu variety to our one-of-a-kind, featured burger and milkshake recipes, Burger 21’s ‘beyond the better burger’ experience is a key differentiator between us and the competition. We look forward to the opening of our first Texas restaurants and bringing more of our chef-inspired burgers and hand-crafted shakes to Houston and additional cities across the state."
