Blendid installs its second robotic smoothie kiosk

December 31, 2019

Robotic self-serve smoothie kiosk-maker, Blendid, has  installed its second location, this one at Sonoma State University's Charlie Brown Café earlier this month, according to a press release. The first kiosk was installed at the University of San Fransisco in March.

The standalone Chef B kiosk has refrigeration systems, blenders, robotic arms and dispensers. Consumers can place orders at the kiosk or via the Blendid app at a cost of $6 per 12-ounce drink.

Chef B processes the order and payment, selects and measures the fresh fruit and vegetable ingredients, then blends, pours and serves each customized smoothie in about three minutes.

In the near future, customers will be able to personalize the blends to their specific taste, dietary restrictions and any allergies since the app will automatically save any specific requests for future orders.

Blendid's nutritionists and chefs created a variety of Blends recipes, including:

The Classic — A strawberry-banana flavor without any added sugar, including flax for fiber.

Banana Jolt  — A combination of bananas, coconut water, whole grain oats and coffee.

Modern Lassi — A combination of mango, kefir and coconut water.
