Most of us are familiar with Gen Z's obsession with sauces, but the latest dipping craze is catching fire globally, thanks in part to international visitors arriving for the World Cup. Social media is lighting up with foreign tourists discovering American ranch dressing for the first time, posting rave reviews and figuring out how to pack bottles of it into their suitcases to take home.

Capitalizing on this massive cultural moment, Fayetteville, Arkansas-based Slim Chickens is turning its most popular condiment into a monthly event.

The 300-plus-unit fast-casual franchise announced today the launch of Ranch Remix, a rotating lineup of limited-time, house-made ranch flavors. Beginning July 1, the brand will drop a new flavor on the first of every month through December.

The six-month series kicks off with Dill Pickle Ranch, which will be available while supplies last and priced between 39 cents and 49 cents à la carte.

The strategy behind the drop

Following the July debut of Dill Pickle Ranch, Slim Chickens is keeping the remaining five flavors strictly under wraps. The brand plans to tease upcoming variations on its mobile app and social media channels in the weeks leading up to each release, transforming the promotion into a monthly guessing game for fans.

"House-made ranch is one of the brand features our guests love most," Patrick Noone, chief marketing officer of Slim Chickens, said in a press release. "Sauce is how guests customize their meal and Ranch Remix adds a fresh note to a familiar favorite. Every month brings a new remix and another reason to come back and see what's playing."

Capitalizing on scarcity

The tangy Dill Pickle Ranch is designed to pair with the brand's signature hand-breaded tenders, wings and fries. By keeping the subsequent flavors a secret and limiting supply, Slim Chickens is leaning heavily into the "drop culture" that resonates so strongly with younger demographics.

"We're keeping the next flavors a secret on purpose," Noone said. "Part of the fun is the guessing game. Guests will get little teases before each drop, and once a flavor sells out, it's gone, so it pays to come in early."

Where to get it: Dill Pickle Ranch rolls out July 1 at participating Slim Chickens locations and via the brand's app.

Founded in 2003, Slim Chickens operates more than 300 units across 34 U.S. states, with international footprints in the United Kingdom, Germany, Turkey and Malaysia. The brand has stated a long-term goal of expanding to more than 600 restaurants over the next decade.
