Ike Shehadeh, founder of of Ike's Love & Sandwiches, discusses with Tim Tang of Hughes, what sparked him to leave behind his three part-time jobs and open Ike's in 2007.
"I asked myself a question: 'what would I do for free,' knowing that likely I would spend the next two years of my life doing it for free," he said. "I wrote down 37 things. And on that list there were things like snuggling baby animals, traveling, going on dates, feeding people, eating, making food, getting together with friends. Looking through the list, it became kind of clear I should get in the restaurant business."
That led to a 17-item list on what it would take for him to open a restaurant.
