The Virgin Sport & Chipotle Run Club is launching Wednesday in London, giving runners access to a free weekly 8-10 kilometer training run club, according to a company press release. Each run will start and finish at a Chipotle restaurant in London, and runners will receive two-for-one burritos, salads, tacos and burrito bowls after each session.
"We already have a huge fitness fanbase and it feels like a natural progression to offer our customers the opportunity to build up a healthy appetite by taking part in a free weekly run club before refueling with Chipotle," Jacob Sumner, operations director, Chipotle in Europe, said in the release.
The initiative is part of the Virgin Sport Hackney Half training program that encourages participants to sign up for sessions ahead of London's Hackney Half Marathon set for May 19.
Sumner said the chain's customizable menu allows runners to design a meal to suit their training needs.
"Our new online tool, Eat To Your Own Beat, helps you to find the perfect combo from high protein, dairy free and paleo to vegan or gluten-free," he said.
Runners can register for a place at the Virgin Sport & Chipotle Run Club via the Virgin Sport website. Places for each weekly run are allocated on a first come, first serve basis.
Chipotle operates seven restaurants in London. Virgin Sport was founded in 2015 by Sir Richard Branson's Virgin Group.
