Wendy's CEO retires

April 17, 2006

DUBLIN, Ohio —Wendy's International chairman and chief executive Jack Schuessler announced his retirement April 17.

The company also said that it will split Schuessler's two jobs. Headed to the post of interim chief and president is Kerrii Anderson, who has been with Wendy's since 2000, while board member James Pickett will become chairman.

Wendy's said the moves were effective immediately and that its board of directors will begin a search for a permanent chief.

It added that by separating the roles of chief executive and chairman, it has "further moved its governance structure toward current best practices."

Schuessler, who had been with the company for 30 years, will serve as a consultant for another two, according to Wendy's.
